Meet Anji Salz, who owns a shop in Tokyo and blogs about same, as well as about kimonos, kimono fashion and Harajuku trends. I first found her blog sharing how she made a dress wrap from an unfinished kurotomesode (black formal kimono) and really liked the pic showing still another way to upcycle lovely vintage Japanese kimonos. I followed it to her blog to see many more visual treats, all of which support our assertion here at www.yokodana.com (YokoDana Kimono) that what we call 'kimono culture' is growing and spreading world-wide. So visit her site and enjoy pics of a...

The Old is New Again: 2016 Kimonos on the Runway in Japan We came across the top picture of the modern woman's kimono while browsing Tumblr. We were struck by its beauty and went to the source, Jotaro Saito's Japanese website jotaro.net. Yes, we love (and sell) traditional vintage Japanese kimonos, but we have to say that these new creations of kimono really caught our eye. We love the artistry of the kimonos made in by-gone eras, but are encouraged and even excited to see these contemporary kimono designs. We also are very pleased to see the designer including many kimonos...

For the purposes of our site, of course, our focus for these blog reviews is on those who share our love of Japanese traditional culture and have taken the time to learn about it -- in...
Kimono for Dolls: KimonoNoMirai on Pinterest
December 05, 2016 • Yoko Lewis
When we do our shows in the spring we are often asked if we carry kimonos for dolls. We had one made for American Girl size dolls but it was a one-time thing, not something we decided to make and sell. So, we were pleased to find KimonoNoMirai on Pinterest.com. We're not sure of the details of how these kimonos are sold but thought our kimono kitsuke and Japanese cultural fans (most of our customers/site visitors) would enjoy this. There are many pictures, to include for Barbie Dolls on the Pinterest Page Here.
