Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner /reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  This lightweight fabric is a traditional cotton fabric originally intended for use in making a yukata (summer cotton kimono) or coat; fabric is slightly translucent with the background color of black-indigo (looks black in lower light) with vertical bands comprised of 3 stripes that are silver-gray and brown colors -- please see close-ups; same on both sides.

Fabric Type:  Still slightly firm, the fabric softens with wash. (hand-wash separately, with lukewarm water-- see our FAQ Pages for cleaning tips).
