Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk; probably originally intended to make haori; This is a 1980's fabric piece with a background of burgundy with white tiny (1/8th inch / 3.17mm) rhombic-shaped shibori dots  (Please see closeups);  In the bottom portion there is a  cluster of hexagonal shapes and one diamond shape (see closeup); a very thin pale-white silk liner is still attached lightly with basting type stitching; same on both sides except the liner is still attached to back.

Recommended for making a scarf or accessories.

Colors: Please use our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric due to differences in contrast and color on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
