Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk derived from a woman's kimono; This is a distinctive fabric piece from the 1930s to 1950s; the background is a plum-purple color with interwoven geometric maze designs (traditional with shrine symbols embedded) -- these geometric patterns and other floral designs fill the fabric, with the foreground being the single rendering of the blossoms(probably plum) on branches using fine pinstripe-type lines in parallel, truly distinctive; the flower-branch designs are on one side only; there is slight sheen within the lines of the interwoven grids/flowers described above.

Note on colors: As all devices have differing coloration, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the color of the fabric.

Condition: Excellent.
