Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is a lightweight black silk, only slightly translucent black background with a complete field comprised of metallic silver threads creating full flowers and vines pattern, with no large empty spaces; Our pictures show from the front, with exception of the last 2 pictures showing views of the extent of the back's threadwork, seems almost like it was brocaded; very distinct motif; Fabric has slight elasticity to it.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories.
