Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight silk. slightly translucent, black background with evenly spaced stripes running lengthwise; 1/4 inch(6.35mm) wide stripes are themselves comprised of tan and brown pinstripes; the spacing between stripes is 3/8th inch (9.53mm); fabric probably for use in making a summer wear kimono; slight sheen can be seen in the striped areas; same on both sides.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories.
