Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s kimono silk fabric pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight, minimally translucent silk; textured but not quite chirimen (crepe); designs on the front side but almost the same is seen on the reverse;  the background is blue with fine-lined small-scaled motifs in soft-white; Motif is of a classic country Japanese home and nature scene, with an additional wide variety of designs, to include: forests,pine trees, bamboo fence, streams, maple leaves, many other types of flowers, and many geometric fields; designs are all small-scale, fine and pixelated; the fabric is also interwoven with soft lateral waves which render the textured touch to this fabric:  Please see close-ups for the many designs; minimal drape and slightly stiff.

Suitable for making scarf/accessories.
