Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Lightweight silk is a 1980s piece from a woman's kimono; the fabric background is ivory, but the maple leaves predominate, overlapping each other over 90% coverage; maple leaves are dark rouge-red to numerous shades of red to pink, using gradation coloring; In places there are hints of peach-pink color; The branches in the ivory color spaces in background show branches in pastel olive green and gray; designs on one side only; fabric has slight drape.
