dividerFabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by clicking HERE.

Fabric Description: Fine Lightweight silk, sligntly translucent, is deconstructed from a woman's formal kimono; This is a1930s-50s fabric piece which has a dark purple and gradation colors between yellow/mustard as background; Background is interwoven with classic floral motif, featuring traditional Japanese music instruents, tsuzumi drum & koto, open fans, temari balls (orbs) and many types of classic flowers (Chrysanthemums, peonies, Japanese bamboo leaves, plum blossoms and more); Colors of the designs include: tan, ivory, white, orange, various hues of olive greens, mustard, lavender and pinks; fabric is very soft with nice drape, particularly suited to make scarf.

Condition: Excellent; As Arai-hari, there are  very tiny pinholes  running along one side, only visible with bright light behind.
