Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This lightweight silk is minimally translucent, a retro print for use in making a woman's kimono; the fabric is for making everyday-wear kimono; Background color is dark and lighter colonial blues with classic streams/water/clouds motifs;  all a Bingata-like pattern of traditional Okinawan Tile roof houses, and various plants, flowers, trees and blossoms filling and overlapping the houses; Motif Colors aredakrer blues, brown and burgundy as well as darker shades of green; white is used to delineate designs; designs are intended for one side display, small-scale figures, most are 1 to 1.5 inches (2.54cm to 38.1mm) at largest dimension; minimal drape and sheen.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories.
