Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-weight silk shibori (tie-dyed) with silk liner attached (basting stitches); originally part of a kimono; This is a 1980s fabric piece with a bright sort-of golden-yellow color background, a classic field of tiny off-white dots throughout; by design from the shibori process, the fabric is textured is to the touch; also, the fabric has slight elasticity due to the tie-dye process.

Condition: Excellent.

Recommended for use in making scarf or accessories.
