Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight soft silk is slightly translucent, in pale pink color with sheen in the interwoven design areas; motifs are classic Japanese designs of clouds, bamboo, old-style Japanese fencing, porch area of a country house, peonies, chrysanthemums, and other flowers; Fabric originally for making an under-kimono (nagajuban), or possibly kimono liner; nice quality silk, some drape; good for making scarf or accessories.
