Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-weight silk hand-done shibori (tie-dyed); originally intended to make kimono; This is a 1980s fabric piece with a mauve color background, classic field of tiny off-white dots throughout with two figures, 7 inches (17.78 cm) at the largest dimension, resembling flowers;  looks the same on both sides, but by design, the front is rougher to the touch; also, the fabric has some elasticity due to the tie-dye process.

Condition: Excellent.

Recommended for use in making scarf or accessories.
