Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980s Japanese pongee silk fabric for making woman's kimono; deadstock (like new, never used from another era) for use in making silk kimono; 100% authenticated Japanese Tsumugi (pongee)silk; found as a full roll.

Fabric Type: Lightweight silk originally for use in making woman's kimono; the fabric is very lightly textured with a slight sheen; motifs are interwoven parallel pinstripes and slightly undulating bands running lengthwise; Fabric is gray-light-olive with other colors used being tan, black, and copper;  little drape; Labels read various phrasings of "Tsumugi 100% Silk" and maker's information.
