Fabric History/Pedigree:

Lightweight meisen silk, slightly translucent,  is estimated from the 1930s-1950s; Meisen is defined literally as 'common silk stuff'; and has grown in popularity in the last few years; Meisen from that period are usually larger bold patterns, fuzzy edges to designs, and bright colors, and this one, however, is a solid dark plum background with very large scale flowers and leaves; motif colors are teal-green, mustard, with some silver grays; slight sheen, stiff.

Note on colors: As all devices have different colorations and contrast, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the color of the fabric.

*Condition:  Overall Excellent, but there are some manufacturer's errors in the lengthwise weave, showing as irregularity of the patterns; but because the meisen is intentionally 'blurry' anyway, it's hardly noticeable at all -- nonetheless, priced at discount price.
