dividerFabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight chirimen silk derived from a 1980s woman's kimono; Background color is an  off-white color with fabric background textured due to chirimen; The motif is of strings of flowers cascading diagonally in parallel down the fabric; flowers are many types and most colors of the spectrum used, with a slight predominance of dark reds to dark vermillions; Some flowers have metallic gold printed accents, also some metallic burnished silver accents in others; print on one side, slightly visible on reverse; very slight drape, and, other than the metallic accents, no sheen.
