Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970s  silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type: This is a much heavier weight high-quality Japanese silk than most we see; it is a chirimen, and might be graded as 'medium-weight' silk; The look is quite modern, even abstract, with what looks like 4 lines of oscilloscope, running lengthwise; wave lines are spaced equidistant with four colored bands between the 4 electric waves, about the same size; fabric colors are (right to left) dark burgundy, pink, lighter burgundy-red, and pale pastel pink; the oscillating lines are in silver and grays; in addition, adding to the modernistic/abstract nature of this fabric's design are the black lines--which look like scribbling -- forming figures, the black lines therein are also with brocaded metallic silver threads; designs on one side only; The fabric has fair amount of drape, given its weight.
Recomended for making a scarf or accessory.

Condition: Excellent.
