Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s fabric from under-kimono, pieces from an Arai Hari (special Japanese kimono cleaner -- see info on Arai-Hari HERE from John Marshall, expert on Japanese textiles .
Fabric Description Details:
This type of silk was derived from a nagajuban (under-kimono) for women, it is very lightweight, soft, and translucent; this lightly textured softer fabric has a light chirimen surface and elasticity; background color is pink with a hint of peach color,even throughout; colors of flowers/leaves are mostly red and cream-white, and pale blue, with accents in pale yellow red; designs are all flowers and leaves that are less than 3/4 inch/19.05mm diameters; Suitable for dollmakers work; The design is same on both sides. though the reverse is lighter.
Great for making scarf, accessories and for dollmakers.
