Fabric History/Pedigree:  Deadstock, yukata cotton, unused from the 1930s-1950s.

Fabric Description:  Lightweight, slightly translucent fabric is a traditional cotton fabric originally intended for use in making a yukata (summer cotton kimono) or coat; Background color is dark brown, almost charcoal black with distinctive designs composed of rectangular grids of thin lines, alternating with kasuri-like strokes on solid background rectangles; Also, triangle shapes alternate in checkerboard sort of array;
Colors used in designs: browns, rust, light cream, tan, and some burgundy tones; Same on both sides.


Condition: Excellent for its age.
