Item Details and Description

• Fabric History/Pedigree:  1960s  or earlier cotton ikat Meisen-Ikat retro, mimicing kasuri wearve - but is definitely a print of retro egasuri (Picture-Kasuri) pattern of arrow feathers and stylized peonies; upon close inspection, it becomes obvious that this is NOT meisen or ikat weave, but a splendid print on lightweight cotton which also has some sheen; fabric pieces from a deadstock roll found with other similar old fabrics, fabric sourced.
  
  
• Fabric Description:  Soft-white color background with classic yabane (arrow feathers with peonies, stylized) retro fabric, calling back to pre-1950s kasuri/ikat and Meisen fabrics; colors of designs -- shades of dark to medium purple lines with the peonies in a darker turquoise-green; fabric is lightweight and translucent - but not sheer; stiff to touch.
