Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's deadstock found as a roll, unused, factory bin.  
Fabric Description Details: This is a lightweight (not sheer), slightly translucent fabric; soft Rayon with a slight drape. The color is a soft off-whitebackground with gray lateral broken lines - evocative of woodgrain or running water; slight elastic quality; Design is of Hydrangea (Ajisai) blossoms as if many afloat in the foreground; The 4-part blossom elements are in indigo-blue to light colonial blues; There are contrasting blossoms in light-gray, peach, fuchsia, and olive-green; note the visual effect is of floating, swirling blossoms; pattern intended for one-side use; While one might see butterflies, the floating ajisai in swirls is consistent with many similar Show Period designs.
