Fabric Type: This is a medium-Lightweight, possibly century old delicate & slightly translucent chirimen (crepe) silk deconstructed from a woman's kimono; background color is beige with entire frame of fabric coverd with full intricate background repeated lines and figures; multiple classic motifs, Sansui (country scenes), combines with these motifs, in combination; so are replete with undulating streams, bridges (Japanese traditional covered wooden types); as well as country hut, small river dock, stylized pine and other trees and flowers (mostly mums); Predominant color of the designs are a dark psstel blue (faded) on beige; note instances of kanako (Fawn spots) or, shibori-dots; a soft-white and cream; designs on one side with darker shapes from front showing in places; fabric is soft, slight stretch, and good drape.

Recommended for making scarves or accessories.
