Fabric History/Pedigree:  Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE

 For an excellent 'how-to' do  Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk, minimally translucent, deconstructed from a woman's lighter-weight summer kimono; Background is very pale tan, but with light aqua-blue dashes in places; the foreground flowers are exquisite renderings of classic Camelias and also what might be Hibiscus interwoven in background; there is considerable sheen on front side; the flowers are colored in gradation (bokashi look?) with shifts from light olive-green, dark green, to light and dark ambers;  To our eye, this design has a sense of watercolor painting;

Colors: Reminder that colors across devices can vary significantly; please use our text color descriptions in your consideration.

Condition: Excellent.

Suitable for making scarves or accessories; also recommended for Display.
