Fabric History/Pedigree:  Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE

For an excellent 'how-to' do  Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: This lightweight silk is minimally translucent, a retro print deconstructed from a woman's everyday-wear kimono; Background color is solid cream   with classic Okinawan style flower,s, plants, bamboo & other leaves with butterflies and stylized round shapes (as fruit?) yet with flowers within them;  all  of this is done in a Bingata-like pattern of traditional batik textiles; Motif Colors are vermillion, dark to light greens, mustard yellow, gray, blue gray, black and dark red; minimal drape and sheen; Print on one side, but somewhat visible on reverse.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories.

Colors: Please use our text descriptions to complement your sense of the colors, as color and contrast differ on different devices.
