Fabric Description: Very fine, delicate, slightly translucent chirimen crepe, very lightweight silk, deconstructed from a younger woman's summer kimono; This is a 1930s-1950s fabric piece which has a cream-white color background;

This fabric is a bold and ornate motif of large flowers arrangement accompanied by very large-scale purple stylized bamboo leaves, the latter also decorated with mums and other flowers; The flowers occupy most of the space of the piece, and the dominant color is bright orange; Note the subtle presence ofinterwoven chrysanthemums and many others, echoing the foreground motif; Other colors are several shades of light olive-green and some blues and amber; Flower types are multiple,but the peonies are prominent; as a print, all this is on one side but due to thinness of the farbric it can be seen somewhat on reverse.
