dividerFabric History/Pedigree:  Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE

For an excellent 'how-to' do  Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk, minimally translucent and deconstructed from a ywoman's kimono; This is a 1960s  fabric piece which is shibori (tie-dyed), dark purple dyed, with usual white  dappled fields of shibori fabric; due to the tie-dyed work, fabric is rough but has a small bit of elasticity; same on both sides.

Note on colors: Since all devices display colors differently, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the fabric's color.
