Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk from woman's kimono with mix of dark-burgundy-red  color background, which is composed of very tiny pixelated semi-circular white swirls (see close-ups) thase are interwoven; Print one side only, but light-gray pixels are visible on the reverse; This pattern of overlapping semi-circles in background commonly seen as a wave pattern; In addition, a very interesting sytlized vertical thin single-line strokes renderig what look like flower or grass shoots; also, a few tiny aqua-blue flowers, as well as a few random tiny blossoms; These thin lines are slight arcs, in off-white and lime-green;  this fabric is very lightly textured to the touch (due to weave); some drape, finely textured to the touch.
