dividerFabric History/Pedigree:  Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE

For an excellent 'how-to' do  Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: Medium and denser weave, not translucent, quite textured with visible and tactile texturing; Color is a dark blue, but the striation lines seem to have a different hue of darker blue; We suspect that this fabric was orignally intended for further processing, as the silk feels close to raw silk feel; Fabric may have quilting or practical applications given its thickness and textured weave.

Note on colors: Since all devices display colors differently, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the fabric's color.

Recommended for quilting or utilitarian accessories

Condition: Excellent.
