Fabric History/Pedigree:  Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE

For an excellent 'how-to' do  Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: Light, almost sheer weight silk deconstructed from a woman's black kimono; This is a 1960s  or earlier fabric piece which is a solid black background color with a few brocaded 3 metallic (copper, silver) groupings running laterally perpendicular to sides;  The brocades have  threads on the reverse and also, as a deconstructed piece, please note the very tiny thread holes in places; This has great drape and we recommend this be used to make scarf or accessory.

Note on colors: Since all devices display colors differently, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the fabric's color.

Recommended for making scarf or accessories

Condition: Excellent.
