Fabric Description: Medium-weight mock-silk/synthetic kimono fabric, deconstructed from a woman's kimono; This is a 1990s fabric piece which has an orange color background (similar to shuiro, but not quite to our eye); the ntire fabric is interwoven throughout with the diagonal geometric maze-type design traditionally associated with Buddhist temples, this runs throughout the fabric and can be seen more clearly in undecorated spaces in sheen;

This is a rather unique motif and use of applique process to render Ikebana flower arrangement baskets placed randomly, accompanied with decorative cords and temari balls; upon very close inspection, there are metallic gold, single fine lines that highlight some of the flower -- these look like embroidery, but we think not; the colors of the flowers and baskets are pale whites, some silver-white, with pale aqua-bluesin gradation of the aqua-blues especially. Quie a distinctive piece; had drape due to its heavier (than silk) weight.
