Fabric Description: Fine, lightweight silk, translucent and deconstructed from a younger woman's kimono; This is a 1960s fabric piece which has a red color background color, with curving off-white and lavender color strokes, as well as flowers and leaves inside 6.5 inches /16.51cm average diameter orbs; these circles a placed on alternating sides cascading; In addition, note the flowers etc in off-white which are rendered using mock-shibori dots print designs.

Most interesting to us - and rarely seen - is the way the floral orbs have outer lines making them look like the orbs are spinning;I nside these orbs is an abundance of multiple types of classic Japanese designs of flowers and leaves: Chrysanthemus, peonies, daisy mums, plum and cherry blossoms; these are all in pastels, wide range of colors from gradations of the following pastels: lavender, blue, burgundy, green, orange, mauve, reds; The orbs are themselves black backgrounds; All designs are print on one side but given the thin nature of the fabric is seen on reverse; minimal drape.
