Fabric Description: This high-quality, 1930s-1950s kimono silk is a lightweight fabric,  slightly translucent; Background color is dark purple with lighter purple horizontal bands; Upon closer examination, the fabric is dyed in a rectangular grid of bands (3/8"/9.53mm wide), with white cross figures  in  soft-white relief, 4 inches by 3 inches(10.16cm X 7.62cm)l; In one sense the fabric as a whole has plaid look to it, depending lighting; Typically of Meisen of this period, all designs are fuzzy with almost an Impressionistic sense; Motifs are same on both sides/

Colors: Please use our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric due to differences in contrast and color on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
