Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk deconstructed from a woman's kimono; This is a 1930s-50s fabric piece which has a red background which is itself interwoven with a sor t of zig-zag diagonal grid design; Background is interwoven with large (8Inches/20.32cm) and smaller (3 inches/7.62cm) orbs which resemble temari balls and wreaths;

Colors used in designs: mostly lighter and pastel-type blues, red, yellow, aqua-blue, pink, and white; fabric is slightly textured, resembling chirimen but is only lightly so; designs on one side.
