Fabric History/Pedigree: Lightweight thin deadstock cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1990s originally intended for making everyday bath yukata; This is a promotional fabric from the Sumo Wrestling Stables Minezaki, A Sumo Wrestling Stable (Organization) in Nerima, Tokyo from 1988 to 2021.
- Fabric Description: Lightweight yukata-type cotton, indigo blue and white, the designs are the chain-link loin cloth (mawashi) knots of a tied ceremonial sumo wrestler garb (see our sample pictures below); see also tsuna (rope)For this fabric, these chains run in parallel vertically(warp) and the characters, reading Minezaki, are placed randomly (Please see close-ups).
