Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by John Marshall, expert on Japanese textiles  HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-weight silk with shibori (tie-dyed) areas (clouds); originally intended to make under-kimono (nagajuban); This is a 1960s vermillion-colored fabric piece with interwoven classic geometric temple maze designs as background with shibori designs of Japanese cranes-in-flight, clouds, and Japanese pine trees (all classic rendering); Fabric is soft to the touch, has noticeable sheen and nice drape for a nagajuban silk.
Recommended for use in making scarf or accessories.

Colors: Please use our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric due to differences in contrast and color on different devices.

Condition:  Excellent.
