Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This 1930s-1950s kimono silk is a lightweight fabric, slightly translucent; Background color is dark plum at first glance, but, in brighter light its luminescence is seen, sheen also; the large cross-signs are in burnished metallic silver-gray color; cross shapes stagger in array lengthwise; Motifs are same on both sides (Please see close-ups).
