Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This high-quality, 1930s-1950s meisen kimono silk is a lightweight fabric, slightly translucent; The Background color is dark orange with a hint of red; the design is of what resemble iris stems/leaves with various geometric figures  over them in random angles -- both rectangular and square-shaped forms; there are also other abstract designs within the various shapes, some apparent leaves/blossoms as well as what resemble kasuri ikat patterns and decorations within the figures; to us, these squares/rectangles resemble kimono fabric samples; this is truly another modernistic look from early post-World War 2, 1950s Japan; dominant colors used are white, yellow, green, various reds, and black; Motifs are same on both sides (Please see close-ups).

Colors: Please use our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric due to differences in contrast and color on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
