Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's, pieces derived from deadstock roll of Japanese polyester mock-silk (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used.)

Fabric Description: lightweight fabric used to make a woman's under-kimono(nagajuban) or kimono liner.Colors: Background is extremely pale aqua-green; flowers are a  vermillion red-orange.

Motifs: This is a common classic traditional Japanese motif using very small gapped interwoven geometric grids (with the ancient shrine symbol embedded) and stylized plum blossoms in a loose grid throughout; Flowers are 3/8" (9.53mm) diameter; often called 'komon' in Japanese (meaning 'small family crest').

Condition: Excellent. Washable, strong.
