Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s Deadstock Japanese kimono silk found in partial roll; has a look of flocked Taffeta on one sidea but is too thin to be true Taffeta; back is solid indigo-black.

Fabric Description: Deadstock (new, never used but from another era) medium-lightweight silk piece from the 1960s; solid indigo-black-burgundy color silk for making kimono, other possibilities; The front is composed of 1.75 inches / 44.45cm diameter ornate medallions flocking to fill the fabric; The medallions are complex floral designs, almost a baroque quality; The color of the background (front only) is dark purple-black in lower light, while the back is a solid indigo-black color; evocative of Taffeta, fabric is crisp and doesn't wrinkle easily.

Might be used to make a scarf or accessories
