Item Details and Description:

  • Fabric History/Pedigree:   Lightweight thin deadstock cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1930s - 1950s.

  • Fabric Description:  Lightweight,  fine, translucent brown, black, and tan overall color; this resembles some Japanese Sarasa patterns and is a diagonal grid which is made with pixelated black, brown, and tan rounded and diamond elements that measure .5 inch/12.7mm to .75 inch/19.05mm; elements filled with floral patterns; all threads are tiny and pixelated, rendering this also as a sort of komon (lit. small crest) pattern (please see closeups); cotton yukata (summer kimono) fabric the same on both sides.

  • Fabric Type: Still slightly firm, the fabric softens with wash. (hand-wash separately, with lukewarm water-- see our FAQ Pages for cleaning tips.
