Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This high-quality, 1930s-1950s kimono silk is a lightweight fabric, slightly translucent; Background color is white but other colors cover much of the space in geometric figures -- both rectangular and obtuse forms; there are also other abstract designs within the various black-lined rectangular(and other) shapes, some apparent leaves/blossoms; truly another modernistic, perhaps abstractionist look from early post-World War 2 1950s; dominant colors used are dark moss-green, white, gray, pink, and dark burgundy red; Motifs are same on both sides (Please see close-ups).

Colors: Please use our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric due to differences in contrast and color on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
