Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE;

For an excellent 'how-to' do Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: Light-medium weight solid pink silk has classic jimon patterns (jimon: interwoven, textured) of Climatis, Japanese Maple leaves, as well as shining speckles *(Called Same-Komon [Sah-may-koh-moan], a speckled, textured dots pattern, translated as "sharkskin pattern"; Same-komon traditionally serves as background patterns for the Climatis and maple leaves; fabric has a nice sheen of the designs, figures, and nice drape.

Note on colors: Since all devices display colors differently, please use our color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric's color.
