Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight black silk from a woman's kimono with a textured background that is composed of an interwoven diagonal grid, elements 1.5inches / 38.1cm long create a slight relief and textured feel; Note also that the diamond rhombic elements have floral nesting shapes within; 3 floral white elements, possibly painted; they mimic shibori dots.
