Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Ligh-medium tweight fine quality silk from woman's kimono, solid dark indigo-blue (black in lower light); Thickness is such that only a bright light held up to the fabric from behind shows some light; There are pairs of two-threads wide pinstripes that are brighter white with some rusty-red in places (only visible from extreme close-up, see our last closeup); this fabric is very slightly textured to the touch;no sheen; minimal drape.
