Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces derived from deadstock 1960's kimono silk roll.
Fabric Description: This is medium-weight silk for use in making a more formal kimono, ; the fabric background is a dark plum, hint of burgundy in lower lighting; This very unusual design is rendered by embroidered mostly metallic silver, pale green & pink, beige, and white-gold; Reverse side view shows the under threads seen in embroidery (as compared to brocade); this is a heavier silk, so does not wrinkle as easily; but has little drape; it is also minimally translucent; the embroidered motif flows diagonally down the fabric. the loop elements being 5-6 inches / 12.7 cm - 15.24 cm at longest dimension; the thickness of the fabric's silk threads means it is quite textured to the touch, so no real drape.
