Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s silk fabric pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is medium-lightweight silk, derived from a woman's kimono; the fabric is black and cream with several accents in dark peach (centers of some flowers); motif is a grid with hexagonal figures (3.5inches / 8.89cm diameter with 2.5 inches / 6.4cm diameter imperial chrysanthemums aligned in a symmetrical grid; This is a print, design one side only, minimal translucence and is slightly elastic; a little drape.
