Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-1950s, found in roll, deadstock, never used.

Description: Very thin lightweight, translucent, and stiff; tan, purple, and brown colors in 7 inches / 17.78 cm deep alternating bands (viewed lengthwise); this is the sort of cotton used to make summer festival woman's yukata; the motif is very large-scale round medallions (avg. 9"/22.86cm diameters), and classic single daisy chrysanthemums, 6 inches / 15.24 cm wide; This fabric and design is very much like the Meisen silks from the same period, with fuzzy boundaries of fabrics and the weave, just it is cotton; Please view our close-ups; same on both sides.

Condition: Excellent; Still slightly firm, the fabric softens with wash. (hand-wash separately, with lukewarm water-- see our FAQ Pages for cleaning tips.
