Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980s deadstock never-used kimono fabric from bolt; From maker as undyed kimono fabric intended for making woman's kimono.

Fabric Description: Undyed off-white light-medium weight fabric, has interwoven designs of classic stream or pond design using elongated ovals (.5inch/12.7mm wide) with chrysanthemums within them; These run in parallel and some interconnect; This motif is often seen in traditional Japanese art and in classic kimono patterns; These designs are interwoven, in relief, and slightly textured; these patterns were intended for being dyed to make a woman's kimono; fabric has a strong sheen on one side and slight drape; this is a very good quality silk.

Recommended for dyeing by textile artists, making scarf or accessories.
