Item Details and Description:

  • Fabric History/Pedigree:   Lightweight thin deadstock cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1930s - 1950s.
  • Fabric Description:  Lightweight,  fine, translucent burgundy & black color background with a rectangular grid (plaid) which is made with pixelated black and burgundy pinstripes in a mesh background; The foreground pattern of rectangles (2.25 inches/5.71cm X 1.75 inches/44.45mm ) of the grid is in blue bands with various color single pinstripes within; The larger bands average 3/8inch/9.53mm wide; effectively this is a plaid look overall;  cotton yukata (summer kimono) fabric the same on both sides.

  • Fabric Type: Still slightly firm, the fabric softens with wash. (hand-wash separately, with lukewarm water-- see our FAQ Pages for cleaning tips.
