Fabric History/Pedigree: This lightweight deadstock 1990s fabric  roll is solid Japanese cotton, oiginally made for use as kimono liner; rolls found with other lots received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by clicking HERE

Fabric Description: solid even-color is a darkest indigo -- looks black but in close incandescent light the deep indigo blue can be seen.

Condition: Excellent;  found in original wrappings; When pulled fresh from the roll, fabric is slightly firm, but the fabric softens with washing. (hand-wash separately, with lukewarm water-- see our FAQ Pages for cleaning tips.

NOTE: We are not 100% sure if this is Aizome (traditional plant-based) indigo; Still, it should be washed multiple times alone, and  treated as though it were true indigo-based.

Condition:  Excellent.

Notes: Ideal for sashiko projects; Nice information article on traditionalkyoto.com about Aizome is HERE.
